Volta Trucks, the disruptive all-electric commercial vehicle manufacturer and services provider, is set to debut its all-electric Volta Zero in the US at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo from May 1-4, 2023. Volta Trucks aims to develop the US market launch for its all-electric commercial vehicles and services, with the introduction of the Class 6 and Class 7 Volta Zero (equivalent to the existing European 16-ton truck) set for late 2023
The Volta Zero is the first purpose-built all-electric medium-duty truck designed specifically for urban logistics, with a range of 95-125 miles. The company also offers a “Truck as a Service” subscription model, which accelerates the adoption of electric commercial vehicles by delivering a hassle-free and de-risked way to electrify fleets. The all-electric Tesla Semi, on the other hand, has been undergoing testing for a few years and has yet to enter full-scale production.
Both companies are seeking to provide solutions to address the environmental impact of commercial transportation, but the Volta Zero’s unique size and earlier market entry could give it an edge over the Tesla.
