Tom Cruise To Play Carroll Shelby In “Go Like Hell”

News I By John Beltz Snyder I October 28, 2013
Tom Cruise is starring in an upcoming racing film, and this one promises to be better than Days Of Thunder. Based on a 2009 book of the same name, Go Like Hell will star Cruise as automotive legend Carroll Shelby, chronicling Ford’s 1960s Le Mans rivalry with Ferrari that resulted in the GT40.

Henry Ford II had Carroll Shelby take over the Ford GT program hoping to find a way to beat Enzo Ferrari at Le Mans. In 1966, the GT40 took first, second, and third place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and went on to win the following three years as well.

Go Like Hell will be directed by Joseph Kosinski, who teamed with Tom Cruise in the 2013 post-apocalyptic science-fiction film, Oblivion.

If you like films like Rush, you should probably be excited about, or at least interested in, Go Like Hell. We are.
