Subaru BRZ STI “Coming Soon”

Well looky here. Subaru Technica International’s Japanese website has posted these teaser photographs of a BRZ STI with the words “Coming Soon.” Not soon enough.

 

The folks at Jalopnik spotted the leak, but there appears to be no other available details about the STI-tuned BRZ at this time.

 

The standard BRZ has quickly become a favorite of ours at Winding Road. We’ve spent some quality time with it, and even tested it against its twin, the Scion FR-S, and the Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec. We’ve found it to be an incredibly entertaining car to drive, and though the challenge of making the most of its 200 horsepower is one we’d never tire of, we can definitely understand the calls from the enthusiast community for a version with a bit more power.

 

A lot of people have been hoping an STI version of the BRZ would become reality, and now it seems it’s just a matter of patience (and keeping our fingers crossed for gold wheels).
