Rumors: Spy Shots—The Ferrari F620 GT Takes Shape
While the official reveal of the eagerly anticipated Ferrari F620 GT—the replacement for the 599—isn’t slated to hit until February 29, photos of the newest front-engine Prancing Horse were recently leaked on GTSpirit, showing the F620 in all its V-12 glory. Updates on GTSpirit confirmed that this photo is actually of a wooden full scale model, but that this is definitely what the real car will look like.
The car’s dynamic design combines distinctive family traits that can be found across Ferrari’s range—the egg crate grill is reminiscent of the FF, the deeply scalloped sides bring to mind the 612 Scaglietti, a long vented hood like on the 599, and the 458 Italia’s swooped rear fenders. While each of the other models in the Ferrari stable lead with at least one of these styling cues, the F620 manages to pull them all together and execute them in what, at least at first glance, appears to be a more unified and attractive package.
As we reported before, the F620 will have a 6.3-liter V-12 mounted up front that will produce a massive 740 horsepower, providing commensurate motivation to get the car to 60 miles per hour in about three seconds flat, and onto a top speed of well over 200 miles per hour.
The F620 GT will first appear in the flesh at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, and official photos will be released later this month.
