Rumors: Spy Shots—Refreshed 2013 Audi R8 Spyder
The Audi R8 has been with us since 2006 and in those six years, it has become one of the most desirable supercars money can buy. Audi offers its stunning mid-engined exotic in several different flavors including the standard V-8 model, the glorious V-10 iteration, and the droptop Spyder versions of both. Recent spy shots of an undisguised R8 Spyder on Worldcarfans reveal that Audi has tweaked both the 2013 Spyder’s exterior and powertrain during a mild mid-cycle refresh.
Visually, the car receives new full LED headlamps and slightly revised taillights and front grille. Both engine options will remain available, but they should now make even more power—the V-8 is rumored to make around 444 horsepower, while the V-10 should increase to about 533 horsepower. All those ponies will likely be routed to the ground through Audi’s S-Tronic transmission. The refreshed R8 is due to bow at the upcoming Paris Motor Show which takes place in September.
