Rumors: Spy Shots—2014 Nissan GT-R Scooped

News I By Doran Dal Pra I September 12, 2012
The Nissan GT-R in its current form has been with us for six years now and with every refresh, Nissan bestows ever more performance and power on its flagship car.  Recent rumors had Nissan potentially cancelling the GT-R, but fortunately, those turned out to be untrue. Now, we know that 2018 will bring a major update to the GT-R, and the 2014 model seen here—courtesy of the spy shooters at GMotors—should quell our lust for a more powerful Godzilla nicely.
Under the hood, the biturbo 3.8-liter V-6 in the 2014 car is rumored to pump out 570 horsepower, up some 28 horsepower on the current model. Rumors have abounded that the 2014 GT-R would receive significant exterior visual changes but judging from these spy photos, those changes may not be that significant. We should be treated to at least reworked front and rear bumpers when the 2014 GT-R makes it public debut, potentially at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
