Rumors: Industry Report—New RS5 Stateside This Summer

Audi’s potent 2013 RS5 whose details were recently divulged, should be heading to our shores this coming summer according to a recent report on Inside Line. Earlier, we had a chance to drive the Euro-spec RS5, and had predicted an earlier arrival (September 2011) in the US—a date that came and went with no cars reaching our showrooms. While pricing for the car headed to US isn’t yet known, we do know that when it goes on sale in the United Kingdom in April, it should be priced around the current equivalent of $92,000.

 

Under the hood, the RS5 packs Audi’s venerable 4.2-liter V-8 that makes 445 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. From a standstill, the RS5 should hit 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds and keep on going to a limited top speed of 155. Besides its refreshed exterior, which includes Audi’s stylized LED headlights, the Euro-spec RS5 features a new electromechanical steering system, dynamic ride control, and can be optioned with carbon-ceramic brakes.
