Rumors: Industry Report—New Audi Diesel Coming Stateside?

According to MotorAuthority, Audi has recently announced the arrival of a new turbo-diesel engine which pumps out 308 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. Called the BiTDI, the biturbo 3.0-liter V-6 should appear in the A6, A7, the new A6 Allroad, and also in the engine bay of the Q7.

Currently, there is no solid indication that Audi will bring their new diesel mill to the United States, though it is likely. Demand for diesels is definitely on the rise in the US, and with several European manufacturers already offering diesels here—Audi included—it is feasible the new engine could soon appear under a car hood near you.
