Nissan Launches 26-City Drive Electric Tour

News I By Brandon Turkus I July 18, 2011
Nissan has announced its Drive Electric Tour, spanning 26 cities in 20 states, that will offer consumers first-hand testing of the manufacturer’s all-electric Leaf plug-in. Each event offers consumers the opportunity to talk to Leaf product specialists about driving and owning the Leaf.

There will also be demonstrations on the “sexy science” (Nissan’s words, not ours) behind the Leaf. This includes connectivity and monitoring options, fuel efficiency and costs, and the environmental impact of the plug-in EV.

The highlight of the tour, though, is the test drive experience. This will allow consumers to get actual seat time behind the wheel of the Leaf on a closed circuit and the open road, with a Nissan product specialist riding along to answer any questions.

The Drive Electric Tour has already visited Long Island, New York and Jersey City, New Jersey. This weekend, it travels to Hartford, Connecticut and the Westfarms Shopping Mall. The Tour runs Friday through Sunday, with gates opening at 9:00 am on Friday and Saturday, and 10:00 am on Sunday. For full details, go to the Nissan Leaf website.
