First Look: 2012 Honda Motorcycles

News I By Brandon Turkus I November 09, 2011
Honda has added five new models to its 2012 motorcycle roster, including a trio of sport bikes and two scooters. In the sport bike range, the new VFR1200F boasts a 1237cc V-4, traction control, and a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The more sport oriented CB1000R doesn’t go quite as extreme as the manic CBR1000RR, but it still boasts a 999cc four-cylinder engine, and plenty of performance for a naked bike. You can snag the new CB1000R in March of 2012.

For beginners, Honda is jumping into the 250cc sport bike game with the CBR250R. Its 249cc engine will deliver 77 miles per gallon, while still offering ABS and a light body. If you are looking to get into sport bikes for the first time this is probably a good place to start.

If full-tilt motorcycles aren’t your thing, Honda is adding a pair of scooters for 2012, although you could make the argument that the Silver Wing is a bit more motorcycle, thanks to its 582cc engine. The Silver Wing also makes use of an automatic transmission, delivering a comfortable ride for all skill levels. Towards the bottom of the range is awesome looking Ruckus. With a unique design and a thrifty 49cc engine/automatic transmission combo, the Ruckus looks to deliver some seriously affordable mobility.
