Italian automaker De Tomaso Automobili aims to break [sound] waves with the V12 of their newly revealed P900. A screaming 12,300 rpms out of a twelve-cylinder yields a fundamental audio frequency of 2460hz, which is upper midrange. – Insert head-exploding emoji here – boom!
De Tomaso claims it’s the smallest and lightest V12 ever developed, tipping the scales at just 220 kilograms (485 pounds). The naturally aspirated motor produces 900 horsepower in a vehicle that has a dry weight of 900 kg (1,984 lbs), thus giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1 akin to the Koenigsegg One:1.
The catch? Well the automaker says the V12 won’t be available until 2024, so if you just must have a P900 before then, you can opt for a Judd V10.
We’ll wait for the V12…..
