Detroit 2013: Cadillac Teases ELR Ahead Of Debut
Cadillac has begun the slow strip tease ahead of the January 15 reveal of the ELR extended-range EV at the 2013 North American International Auto Show.
For those that aren’t familiar with the ELR, it’s styling draws inspiration from the Converj concept from the 2009 show in Detroit. It’ll use a version of the Chevrolet Volt’s Voltec range-extending powertrain.
Production of the ELR is scheduled to begin at GM’s Hamtramck plant later in 2013. Hamtramck currently produces the Chevy Volt, along with its European and Australian versions, and the Chevy Malibu.
