Here’s some news that will brighten the day for fans of the three-shielded brand; the Buick Regal GS has been greenlighted for production.
According to a report by The Detroit News, General Motors has confirmed that the hotted-up version of Buick’s newest vehicle will stay relatively true to its Opal Insignia OPC roots, which means a 255-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged four, a six-speed-manual transmission, and power going to all four wheels. Unfortunately, we don’t expect the beautiful Recaro seats from the Regal GS Concept to be available in the production model.
The Regal GS is part of a wider bid by Buick to lower its overall customer age, an initiative that has been largely successful due to products like the LaCrosse mid-sizer, and Enclave crossover.
The Regal GS could join the rest of the refreshed Buick lineup in dealerships next year.
