Audi RS Q3 Leaks Ahead Of Geneva Debut

News I By Brandon Turkus I February 19, 2013
Audi’s newest RS product, the so-adorable-you-can-pinch-it RS Q3, has leaked ahead of its Geneva debut.

By and large, it’s similar to the RS Q3 Concept that debuted at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. There’s the normal crop of RS pieces, including more aggressive front and rear fascias, a pair of oval exhausts, and some big alloy wheels. It also sports a Quattro logo within the lower grille, much like the new Audi RS7.

The seats feature contrast stitching and a diamond pattern. We can’t see it in these images, but expect a healthy set of sport seats on the RS Q3. The cabin looks pretty normal for an RS product, with a bespoke steering wheel and a leather-wrapped gearshift for the S-Tronic transmission.

It looks like we’ll have to wait until Geneva to get the full rundown on the RS Q3, but rumors are floating about that it’ll utilize Audi’s 2.5-liter, turbocharged five-cylinder engine. Of course, Quattro all-wheel drive will be standard.

We’re liking the Quattro logo inside the lower grille. The brightwork on the vertical intakes is a bit of a departure from the norm (the RS7 had similar intakes, but they were finished in black).

A sporty, flat-bottomed steering wheel is a great touch. Interestingly, we don’t see controls for Audi’s Drive Select System.

Low-profile tires are wrapped around a set of meaty wheels. A subtle diffuser pokes out from the rear end, while one of the oval-tipped exhausts is visible. All in all, pretty standard for an RS.
