Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Checks In Under $200K, Hits 60 In 3.7 Seconds

News I By Brandon Turkus I June 20, 2013
You’ll already have heard about the 2015 V12 Vantage S, and how it’s the lighter, harder alternative to the Vanquish. If you haven’t, we’ve got you covered.
It uses the same 6.0-liter V-12 engine as its big brother, meaning there are 565 British ponies on tap, and 457 pound-feet of torque on a body that trims around 200 pounds from the Vanquish. We told you the top speed sits at 205 miles per hour, meaning it can quite easily dust a Vanquish at high speeds.
And now we can tell you a few more things.
On the way to its 205-mph top speed, the V12 Vantage S can hit 60 mph in a scant 3.7 seconds, which, we might add, neatly ties it with the One-77. The “baby” Aston gets better, though.
The starting price of this V-12 rocket is just $184,995. That’s a lot of money, until you look at the rest of the Aston range. The Vanquish Coupe starts around $280,000, while the regular V12 Vantage retails for $180,600. The One-77, meanwhile, still sits happily in the seven-figure price bracket.
So, 205-mph top speed, 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, staggering good looks, a price tag that’s well under $200,000, and an Aston Martin pedigree? If we were Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Porsche, we’d be mighty nervous right now.
