Prodigy Racing League

In a major announcement, Racing Prodigy, a pioneering sports, entertainment, and media company, unveiled the Prodigy Racing League (PRL), the world’s first e2Real sports league.  This innovative racing league aims to make motorsports more accessible by utilizing eSports as a pathway to real-world racing, effectively reducing financial barriers and leveling the playing field for aspiring racers worldwide.  With this groundbreaking initiative, Racing Prodigy is providing millions of aspiring racers with the opportunity to pursue their dreams of becoming professional racecar drivers.

CEO David Cook, the driving force behind Racing Prodigy, drew inspiration from his experience organizing competitions at Mazda, where sim racers competed against the company’s top real-world racers in actual race cars. These virtual racers demonstrated their exceptional skills, and in some cases, surpassing their real-life counterparts; highlighting the direct transferability of virtual racing expertise to the physical world.  This realization prompted Cook to address the access problem in traditional motorsports and unlock the potential for a revolutionary transformation in a sport that has long been a distant dream for many young enthusiasts.

Prodigy Racing League

“At Racing Prodigy, we are democratizing the entry into motorsports, making it as accessible as traditional sports. By simply having a console, mobile device, or PC with a wheel and pedals, gamers can now participate in eSports tournaments, breaking down barriers and allowing everyone to engage with the sport they love,” said Cook.  “The Prodigy Racing League serves as a new home for racers from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, enabling them to chase their motorsports dreams from the virtual screen to the real track.  We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in motorsports, and today marks a significant step forward in that direction.”

To turn dreams into reality, Racing Prodigy has partnered with four renowned gaming titles: iRacing, Street Kart Racing, rFactor 2, and RaceRoom.  The global search for racing prodigies begins with iRacing on June 19 with the PRL iRacing MX-5 Cup Open Challenge. Gamers must be at least 13 years old and register at here before the qualifying stage concludes on June 26.

Eligible participants, aged 13 and above, must register before the qualifying stage concludes on June 26.  Racing Prodigy will livestream the semi-finals and final races on July 1st & 2nd.  Further tournaments, both free-to-enter and pay-to-enter, will be announced in the coming weeks, providing even more opportunities for aspiring racers to showcase their skills.

How It Works

The Prodigy Racing League features 12 eSports racing tournaments held between June and October, encompassing the four distinguished gaming titles.

The top 15 performers will receive the coveted Prodigy Pass™, known as the “golden ticket of motorsports,” granting them the opportunity to compete in real Radical SR1 race cars at Prodigy Week™.  Scheduled to take place from October 30th to November 1st at Atlanta Motorsports Park, Prodigy Week offers racers expert instruction on racing techniques, physical fitness, and effective communication.

Following the inaugural Prodigy Week, Racing Prodigy plans to organize a second edition in early 2024, inviting an additional 35 Prodigy Pass winners.  This will create a pool of 50 of the world’s most talented drivers from which PRL teams will draft.  Those selected in the draft will receive paid contracts to compete in PRL’s first real-world racing series in the United States, scheduled for launch in 2024.

Racing Prodigy’s Prodigy Racing League is poised to revolutionize motorsports by combining the world of eSports with real-world racing opportunities.  Through their visionary approach, Racing Prodigy is dismantling the financial barriers that have traditionally hindered aspiring racers, opening the sport to a wider audience and unearthing a new generation of motorsports talents.  As the Prodigy Racing League gains momentum, it is set to reshape the future of motorsports and inspire countless individuals to pursue their passion for racing.
