Let’s set the scene: you’re travelling to Paris next month with €3-5 million euros burning a hole in your pocket, and you’re trying to decide what to bring back to your friends and family as souvenirs – how about a complete collection of air-cooled Porsche 911‘s; one for each of your nearest and dearest? Following an impressive Scottsdale Auction at the end of January, Bonhams is offering an extraordinary single-owner private collection of a dozen air-cooled Porsche Turbos – representing the entire history of the ultimate 911 variant for Porsche purists – all at no reserve, in Bonhams Grandes Marques du Monde à Paris Sale on February 2nd.
From the first ‘widow maker’ Turbo model – a 1975 Porsche 930 Turbo 3.0 – to a last-of-the-line 1998 993 Turbo S, the collection spans every generation of what is widely regarded as the definitive sports car. The twelve, which have an overall low estimate of €3 million euros, were carefully selected by their private collector owner in his quest to possess the very best examples of each model.
