Captured: Donkervoort D8 GTO

Features I By John Beltz Snyder I June 09, 2013
The Dutch have a good thing going with Donkervoort, and not just because it’s a really cool name for a car company. Last year, we were fawning over its D8 GT, and since then, the D8 GTO has come into focus with an open top, scissor doors, and an improved combination of lightness and power.

The Donkervoort D8 GTO is available with multiple power options, offering 340 to 400 horsepower (from a 2.5-liter straight-five Audi motor). Power is directed to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. Thanks to use of carbon fiber, aluminum, and tubular steel, weight is kept down to about 1532 to 1675 pounds, depending on the trim. The Performance model boasts a 0-62 time of just 2.8 seconds.

Have a look through these photos, enjoy the video below (with English subtitles on), and tell us you don’t want to make a trip to Holland for some serious motoring in a car that’s difficult to pronounce.
