Ford has begun to recall vehicles again with the previous wire harness problem. Ford began contacting dealers this week about the problem – which affects 225,000 vehicles.

Ford spokeswoman Jennifer Moore told Automotive News, “The action we are taking does deal with a new issue related to a previous recall.

Given the age of many of those cars I wonder how they'll figure out who the owners are. Once again, Ford is proving that quality is job 1!! :)

Sheesh. Good luck. I had two Contours affected by a wiring harness recall. One took eight weeks to get the job done (HUGE dealer comedy of errors, including a busted windshield and a tech who walked off the job with my car on a lift and the engine supported by a jack), and on the other one, the dealer had his tech replace one of the four harnesses and then told me to pound sand when I pointed out the remaining ones with bare wiring showing. I loved that car, but when it broke down hard, I just walked away from it.

Another demonstration of how Fords are just CRAP on wheels. I've owned one Ford in my life, that will be the last time I ever own a Ford.

Why? Because Ford cares enough to do a free repair on a 14 year old car? For me that's REASON to buy a Ford

john

yeah, at that age, there's really very little incentive for them to not go "duh, wiring gets old"

It was a new issue with a previous recall. So they already had a second chance to get it right and couldn't do so then.

I still love that they're touting their "initial quality" awards which means their cars hold up great for the first three months. Whooopeeeee. I'm VERY interested to see how this new batch of cars holds up over 3-5 years. That will be the most telling about how they're doing these days. Of course, they could very well be bankrupt by then and we may never know......

This has been Ford's problem since day one, they are not spending a dime unless the number of lawsuits/deaths outweigh the profit. They have always done business and recalls in this manner back to the pinto the firestone 500 radials the explorer and now over 6 production years of assorted vehicles. this is not an isolated incident. All manufacturers do this but Ford has proven time and time again that they are the best...or is that worst at it. They better pray they have enough loyal following to get them through this poor economy with their sad selection. Pathetic! I will shed no tears when they do in fact go down in flames and the Government fleet is produced by TOYOTA>
