Hyundai Will Stick with Super Bowl Commercials
Most companies would be thrilled to have the rights to air a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl, let alone two of the valuable ads. But as late as the first part of this week, automaker Hyundai was said to be feeling a twinge of buyer’s remorse over just such a brace of ads.
Hyundai had purchased two spots in the second half of the February 3 game on Fox, but had made some noise about the wisdom of that move in our weakening economy.

At a rate of up to $3 million per 30-seconds, the automaker had postulated that it may have made an expensive error. The problem, Hyundai executives have said, was that the company wasn’t sure it would have “something really interesting to put forth,

Probably like FOX, I'm thinking why in the world would you purchase not one but two 30 second spots if no one is going to remember it after the airing. Its the biggest day in advertising, and they are worried about not having much to show. Hopefully they work their creative butts off so that next year is not such a gamble. Catch the commercials again on Monday at Firebrand or at 11pm on ION TV with a special one hour of the newest and classic commercials from Super Bowl.
