Vintage Video Vendition: Beginning of the End, DeLorean Comes to America
YouTube brings us another time warp into the history of the fabulous DeLorean motor car.
Taking us back to 1981, this video shows the first shipment of ill-conceived DMC-12’s leaving port on Easter Sunday (Ostersonntag) on their way to sit largely unsold in America. David Foster’s score takes us through an emotional journey with the silver gullwings, from trailer, to ship, to…ah, backing off another trailer with driver’s side door open.
DMC fans should keep some Kleenex handy.

Ah........but to have one of them factory fresh now....That would be cool.
Why didn't they ever sell? They were unique, and that seems to sell. I wonder how they would have faired in todays market albeit with modern upgrades.

quality and price were the two main problems.

All of that high-tech gadgetry was no good when it malfunctioned as soon as you left the dealer lot.

Not to mention, underpowered and overweight and not competitive on performance...

Holy cow...that's the greatest number of the exact same car that I have ever seen in one place at one time...definitly not your regular dealer lot.

It wouldn't matter if it was video of the entire run of the Ferrari Enzo Ferraris, rather than the entire run of DMCs. It's a pointless video.
