Hyundai Reports Q4 Profit and Glowing 2008 Outlook
Hyundai Motors trounced analyst expectations by posting a 2007 fourth-quarter operating profit of more than $670 million.
The excellent Q4 numbers for the world’s sixth-largest automaker came due to strengthening sales, and a weakening Korean won. Hyundai is fully expecting to ride this wave into 2008, with its new Genesis sports sedan, and cost saving measures leading the way.

Hyundai seems to be bucking the conservative to pessimistic attitudes found in most of the industry forecasts for 2008, expecting the weakening won to help its new products gain price competitiveness against Japanese automakers.
