Japan Report: Galant Fortis Sales Beating Expectations
A lot of people like the new Mitsubishi Lancer. According to the Automotive News Data Center, sales are up 61 percent for the first eight months of 2007, which means 23,754 Lancers found good homes so far this year. This is exactly the kind of hit Mitsubishi needs in the U.S.
And that goes for Japan, too, where Mitsubishi’s smart new 2.0-liter sports sedan, recently launched as the Galant Fortis. Early sales are beating even Mitsubishi’s wildest expectations. In the first three weeks since launch, orders have reached 3334 units, three times the sales target. What’s more, some 80 percent are conquest sales from other automakers.
Oh, here’s the news we’ve all been waiting for, Mitsubishi will launch the stunning Lancer Evolution X in Tokyo on October 1. Yes, it’s time to buy that Mitsubishi stock now.

I like this car...a lot. The Lancer GTS isn't a speed machine, but the sedan's abilities and features are perfectly fit with the needs of most drivers. This is, easily, my favorite small sedan currently on the market.

The looks and handling are very appealing...but I ain't sure about that CVT with 6 shift points.
