Spy Shots: Is this a Turbocharged BMW M5?
Fans of Audi’s RS6 Avant should examine these images closely. Our spies tell us this car is powered by a turbocharged version of BMW’s 5.0-liter V-10.
Small changes to the front fascia, exhaust, and the rear bumper indicate something is different with this M5 wagon. We’re hoping the rumors are correct and that this car will come to market with 600 horsepower under the hood.
What say you? Will BMW build this blistering M5, or is it simply speculation that amounts to nothing? Let us know in comments.
UPDATE: We've since learned that this is only an AC Schnitzer M5 Touring. We were so excited by the possibility of a turbocharged V-10 that we didn't bother comparing the "spy shots" with every known tuning company. There have been other spy shots of a turbo M5, so we're still holding out hope.

Remember the BMW M5 with some extra air intakes in the front bumper? These are the latest pictures of that super M5 that is going to give the Audi RS6 a harder life.
On this prototype noticed going in and out at the BMW test-facility in Munich we can see that the front bumper has really been changed. The middle air intake has grown and they also added some splitters to the outer ends, just like we saw on the M3 CSL prototype. At the rear we notice some different exhaust pipes, and smaller changes to the rear bumper.
The engine is still rumoured to be a turbo version of the V10 delivering about 600 horsepower. When out on the market, BMW fans will have a new toy to play with. There’s just a 1 tiny problem, you are going to need a whole sport bag full of money when going to the dealer.

A turbo on an already high strung engine?

I am a fan of scoops and air ducts, so whether it's turbo or not I think it looks good.

So these guys can waste more gas as they hold me back in the passing lane like the Camry drivers they would be if their insecurity didn't cause them to feel the need to try to impress the neighbors.

[...] It could all be a joke. I’ve spent many hours with my Bavarian extended family and they consider themselves quite the humorists. They’re always like “Massew, come back to Germany with us and we’ll take you to a soccer game. We’ll go on Wednesday. It’s Helmet Day. Everyone named Helmut gets in Free!.” Now you know where my sense of humor comes from. [Winding Road] [...]

That does indeed look like the AC Schnitzer that omar510 linked to.
