Cut and Paste Motors: French-Built Frankencars from Design Matin
For those of us who've never completely understood the idiosyncratic world of French auto styling, Gallic design website Design Matin may provide some amusing answers.
The unique minds at the site have taken images of cars that are parked street-side, and propose aspirational designers use them as the raw material for a whole new realm of automobile. The process of slicing, pasting, color-matching, and calling it a day, may not yield the most lovely results (at least not in the examples we found), but it certainly is a quick way of stepping out of the design box.
So is this pastiche process one that may be behind the lines and curves of future production vehicles? Not likely, in our opinion, but we do plan on keeping our browsers pointed at the French site to see what crafty cars the users come up with next.
