Lets hope Merc held off a bit on the SL's notorious excitement-sapping traction control so some of those torques can actually be used.

An invincible scarf? I knew MB built some tough cars, but I don't think they've gotten to invincible yet.
(Sorry to be so picky, but typos do detract from your fine publication.)

I can't believe they actually put a manual transmission in anything other than the C Class.
nick
That's because they didn't.
mo
what's the weight difference between the 63 and the 65. is the extra 86hp enough to cover that weight difference.
Mena
Guess you don't know what a manual transmission is.
I quote:
Notice that the torque converter was replaced with a multi-clutch setup? Automatics have torque converters and manuals have clutches.

mena, this is lazy ppl's manual. the image that come to most ppl when mentioning a manual is a stick shifter not a paddle shifter. anyways, having to shift 7 gears even with a paddle is so much work, probably most ppl are gonna leave it in the auto mode.

Oh, mo, it's a manual to Mena and people who won't or can't deal with stick.
I like the restyle...and that's about it. The damn thing still weighs too damn much, will give you more problems than the Middle East, and its overpriced to everyone except Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.
Mena
You guys ever heard of Formula One? I guess those guys are lazy too. You guys can believe what you want, bottom line is if a tranny has clutches, it's manual.

Mena on women: "If it has a hole down below, it's a female."
And, yes, the F1 guys are pretty lazy.
