A RAV4-Based Compact Lexus SUV in the Future?
After denied interest in the market, Toyota has reinstated the idea of a compact Lexus SUV to compete with the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and the Acura RDX. Originally, executives felt a little Lexus would overlap the Lexus brand with Toyota – a fear that, apparently, has gone away.

That is one ugly vehicle, I would hope the real one would look better, like a shortened RX, in the same way that the Mazda CX-7 and Mazda CX-9 look the same, even though they are on different platforms

Since Lexus went so far overboard on performance with the RX400h and HL rather than FE it would be nice, really nice, to see a Lexus HYBRID version, AWD version, of the RAV4 using the Prius Atkinson cycle I4.
For those that still need (desire??) PERFORMANCE, that could be made an standard option via a variable speed supercharger that would not provide boost unless the gas pedal is depressed RAPIDLY or beyond 2/3's.
The HSD CVT concept could be used to drive the SC, a belt drive from the ICE on one input and a variable speed AC synchronous motor on the other. Add yet another variable frequency AC drive from the hybrid battery to drive the AC motor.
A lighweight low inertia carbon fiber positive displacement supercharger would only supply normal atmospheric pressure unless BOOST was commanded.
