Official 2008 BMW M3 Sedan Photos
BMW is hoping you haven’t tried to put down a deposit for the 2008 Lexus IS-F just yet. Our favorite Bavarians are offering a sedan version of the potent 2008 M3 we already love.
There isn’t a whole lot to say about the sedan variant, so we’ll just remind you the 4.0-liter V-8 has a tantalizing 8400 rpm redline, 414 horsepower, and now comes in two- or four-door configurations. Still no wagon, but certainly a step in the right direction. Deliveries for this sweet sedan begin spring 2008.

The perfect car? Perhaps not... but they're getting pretty close...

Well, that picture didn't make me drool too much but the images of the car at rest on http://www.leftlanenews.com/bmw-m3-sedan.html look pretty cool! Lots of high-res pics.
chris mich
PS: Is it just me or does the interior look pretty dated and bland? It looks like it can't hold a candle to Lexus and Infiniti.
Ducati Minor
Whatever its faults, it's going to be the hottest luxo-sport on the market with the RS4 going dormant soon. Could it be that we are seeing a hi-po luxury cruiser in stick again? Not SMG only?
chris mich
It would be perfect if AWD was optional.
mo
chris mich, AWD will add unnecessary weight to the car which I assume is gonna be heavy already. I totally agree with you though, the interior looks crap when compared to that of the IS-F
I wonder though how are they gonna face the challenge from mb c63 amg and caddy cts-v which both are expected to load a 500 bhp engine. Audi is growing old and probably they are gonna renew their rs4 faster than expected to keep up with the competition. Lexus was never a threat when it comes to performance and I expect this is gonna remain the same in the meantime. What i am trying to say is that bmw should add a raise the number of that V8 a bit. but be careful not to hit the M5 territory
The Stig
It would be better without mandatory iDrive
Reilly
It would be better if it was the coupe.

Somehow, the proportions look slightly awkward in the sedan version. And admittedly, the interior of the M3 isn't all that spectacular. Simple, and gets the job done, but it doesn't quite feel warm in the pictures (I'll have to see one in person to make a real judgment.)
But if I had the money, I'd choose the IS-F over the M3 sedan. In my mind, Lexus just seems to be able to do no wrong in terms of reliability.
Reilly
I'll take a BMW interior over most. The IS-F M3 battle will be an interesting one.
Steve
I'll take mine 6-speed, idrive equipped, proudly Bangle-ized, RWD, 4 door...
Justin
It would be better if Bangle left BMW.
Don
I despise that rear end.

[...] BMW M3 Sedan - After all the M3 hype that’s been going on since the Geneva Motor Show in March, we hardly need to remind you how sweet this M3 sedan will be. Ok, we’ll do it anyway, 414 horsepower, four doors, 8400 rpm redline, and a six-speed manual transmission. Delicious. [...]

it's definitely a great choice for a sports sedan. and using the design cues from the 3-series coupe to make a 3-series sedan got my attention, i think the 3-series sedan has too much of a stiff and professional look, since the 3-series is really made for bmw's younger and sportier owners.
