eBay Auction of the Day: 1957 BMW Isetta
Lots of WINDING ROAD readers were excited to hear the news that BMW is looking at recreating the utterly unique Isetta. Though a modern take on the classic bubble car is fascinating, some of us are still interested in the original thing.
Found today on eBay Motors, is not only a super clean example of a 1957 Isetta, it also happens to have the rare “Z-mold trim.

Thirty grand for that? The Urkelmobile? Sh*t, I could buy myself a '67 fastback with a high-output 289 and score more in a week than Clooney would with this car in a year.
This stunt has to be the work of my arch-nemesis, Keith Martin. Ever since I refused his advances over at the Pink Flamingo in Belmont Shore, he's followed up on his threat to have every old car advertised on eBay for ridiculous prices.
Why, oh why, was I cursed with great looks and a perfect ass?

Sigh.
I remember before the time when BMWs got hip. Circa the late 80's.
Isetta's were $4500-6000 machines then. Really nice ones.
Time changes things, and so do dollars, but it is what it is. Scary, slow, and damned odd.

Had a rental Isetta in Texas a couple months ago, and I have to tell you, your chances to score would be better in the Isetta than the '67 fastback, unless you are trying to score with men!
Women of all ages and types just flocked to this car.
Don't think many women would really care about a '67 fastback unless they are car person.

If you don't think a Mustang looks better than the Urklemobile, I can't help you.
