Spied! Hell’s Own Black on Black Jaguar XJ Mule
Expected to be unveiled in the spring of 2011, Jaguar’s technical team has been spotted out in the snow and ice, doing a little bit of testing with an XJ mule.
The exterior of this mule is pretty much straight from the current model, though it has been stretched to accommodate the new car’s wider track. Reports say that the car’s underpinnings have also been modified for the X351, an in-house code name for the new XJ.
While there’s not a lot in these photos then, to hint at what the next XJ will look like (though Ian Callum is talking four-door coupe), we think that this mule is the rare kind that can be appreciated on its own merits. Come on, a flat-black Jaguar with big, blacked-out alloys, and a huge light bar up top? This is the car that could reinvigorate the brand!
