Chrysler to Upgrade Jeep Compass and Patriot Interiors
After facing widespread derision for their interior fit and finish, the Jeep Compass and Patriot will be seeing an upgrade sometime this fall.
The news of the redesign comes courtesy of Chrysler designer Ralph Gilles, who said that Dodge’s Caliber will get an interior refresh a little later than its Jeep cousins.

Gilles admits that the interiors of the small Jeeps weren’t the company’s best work, saying, "Even before these products were launched, we did some soul searching.

Is the Liberty getting a new interior, too? Your headline is a little confusing.

Our 2005 Grand Cherokee Laredo (V8, 4x4) has a lousy interior feel, too. Nothing that we noticed during a test drive, and we really liked the exterior lines - it's our 2nd GC and the 6th Jeep for the family overall.
Now that we've had it for a couple years, the interior is awful - aside from the seats, every surface your body touches is rock hard cheap plastic. Your elbows are sore after a drive longer than 15 minutes, terrible ergonomics, the vehicle has crazy blindspots and tunnel vision from the rearview mirror, the seat fabric stained when some bottled water spilled on it... I could go on.
Glad they're doing something to fix the problem, though.

Compass & PATRIOT, not Liberty.

The headline is incorrect in stating "Liberty" instead of Compass (as is the link on the main page leading here)
Having said that, as a current '06 Liberty driver, I sometimes wish it had a more worthy interior.

Thanks for the catch everyone, Compass and Patriot are indeed the Jeeps at issue.

Yeah, I'm sure that a interior rework will save those two.
